Prof. Juan Pablo Lupi has accepted the Directorship of the Graduate Center for Literary Research (GCLR). Professor Lupi teaches in UCSB’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese and is a long-time friend of Comparative Literature and the GCLR (more information here). We look forward to another exciting year of GCLR-sponsored events and invite graduate students interested in getting involved with the group and the events it sponsors (including its annual graduate student conference) to contact Professor Lupi. The GCLR, as a student-oriented organization, depends heavily on the ideas and participation of graduate students. Finally, many thanks to Professor Sven Spieker, the outgoing Director, for his many outstanding years of leadership.
