Teaching Racism and Sexism in a Racialized and Sexualized World

Topics that will be covered Include:
-Negotiating gendered language and cultural stereotypes in the language classroom
-Addressing institutional racism, sexism, and homophobia in the literature classroom
-Acknowledging our own positionally as instructors
-Dealing with entitled student

The Comparative Literature Program and the Department of French and Italian savored a much delicious and joyful lunch on December 7, 2012 (1:30am-2:30pm), at the Mosher Alumni House. Our Phelps staff, graduate students and affiliated professors celebrated the end of a productive quarter and enjoyed an Indian buffet.

Graduate students will host an interdisciplinary conference to showcase undergraduate research. 10:00am-6:00pm, UCEN Lobero Room. Prof. Carrie J. Noland (UCI) as plenary speaker. For the schedule, check the Website.
